At Thrive & Connect, we recently delivered an exciting team building day for the Hawthorn Football Club AFLW squad at Lake Tinaroo in the Atherton Tablelands. The day aimed to foster team cohesion, improve communication skills, and provide insights into the power of positive feedback.
We kicked off with interactive workshops focused on effective communication, equipping players with practical tools to enhance their interpersonal skills. A highlight was the raft building challenge, where teams had to collaborate and navigate the waters, emphasising the impact of positive and negative feedback on team morale.
The final activity was an exhilarating Amazing Race style challenge, featuring nine stations around the lake. Each task required teamwork, problem-solving, and quick thinking, providing a fun and engaging way for players to bond and apply their new skills.
Our facilitators, including teachers, youth workers, and local footballers, played a crucial role in creating a supportive and motivating environment. They enjoyed working with the Hawks and were impressed by their dedication and teamwork.
The team building day at Lake Tinaroo was a memorable experience for everyone involved. We hope the Hawks squad left with valuable lessons and a strengthened sense of camaraderie.
